If you ask my mother-in-law, she'll tell you Facebook is evil. I suppose it can be. My father, seeing his children fight and become distant over things said on facebook, has observed that nothing good comes from it. To be honest, my life has changed due to Facebook; some family relationships have become estranged while others have become stronger. I've reconnected with long lost friends, forged new friendships and started Intuitive Dawnings.
As with most things in life, Facebook has a duality about it when it comes to relationships. It can make them or break them. It can shine a light on an already shaky foundation and it can be an instrument for tremendous support and encouragement.
Like in high school, there are the popular people - they get a zillion likes for the lamest of status updates and the 'not as popular' people who couldn't garner a like if their life depended on it. Facebook is the ultimate reality show where marketing skills and self hype are encouraged, even rewarded.
Facebook is simply a microcosm of the human experience. It's a mirror that reflects what we are and the lessons to be gained from that are priceless.
There are people who will wear their heart on their sleeve on social media, followed closely behind by those who ridicule people that 'air their dirty laundry'. There are those who proudly 'speak the truth' being challenged by another who's truth is different - those conversations rarely end well.
There is friending and unfriending. Liking and unliking. Tagging and untagging. With each action there is a vulnerability that carries with it the weight of rejection. It hurts to not be recognized, it hurts to be ignored, it hurts - even on Facebook.
So I suppose that maybe this social media mamoth can be quite the vehicle of disruption. But it can't create a schism that is not already there, even if undetected. It can't create a longing for an emotional connection that wasn't there to start with. Facebook is simply a microcosm of the human experience. It's a mirror that reflects what we are and the lessons to be gained from that are priceless.
I have been cut to the core over things brought about on Facebook. I've been unfriended by family members I thought were my friends. It cuts deep when the pretend world of self hype and promotion turns its back on you and you are left wondering why nobody seems to care. As with everything in life, it's a spiritual journey and there are always lessons to be learned.
For me, the lesson is not 'What is wrong with everyone else?" ~ although I wish it were that simple. The lesson for me is 'What am I supposed to learn from this? What hurts do I need to recognize and turn over to God for healing? What insecurities am I being led to own up to?" The lessons are powerful liberators, if we allow them to be.
To everything there is a season; the good, the bad and the ugly. They all play out on Facebook. Embrace the good, learn from the bad and pretty up the ugly! I'll be there, laughing, loving........ and learning.
I have to admit that it is hard for me to appreciate my victories. Once I achieve a goal I tend to feel somewhat 'bitter-sweet' about it. Although it is great to set and then meet a goal, there always seems to be an element of disappointment that accompanies my victories. Whether it's losing weight, saving money, or achieving a long sought after recognition, once the goal is attained, and the initial glee wears off, there is a realization that life still isn't everything you would hope it would be.
And then I came across this amazing video that put things into perspective for me. It is our IDEALS, or ideas of perfection, that we are constantly striving for in life. The perfect body, the perfect job, the perfect everything all rolled up in the 'ideal' life. The thing about ideals is that they can never be attained. Ideals are what we strive for, like a carrot being dangled in front of us. Ideals, like the horizon, can never actually be reached; but instead are there to keep us moving forward in a positive direction. So, if you are like me, once you've met a goal you erroneously compare where you are to your ideals, or where you want to be, instead of to where you were.
It's really those little ongoing shifts in perception that helps us achieve inner peace. For me, realizing that I will never attain my IDEALS, but rather their function is to keep me moving forward, was a huge AHA moment that relieved me of self-imposed pressures and allowed me to enjoy the little 'milestones' on my road - not to happiness - but of happiness.
Watch the video and let me know what you think. Do you hold yourself up to your ideals and feel frustrated that you can never attain them? Does shifting your perception of ideals from 'what should be' to 'what motivates me to keep moving forward' help you lighten the pressure enough for you to enjoy even the smallest of victories in your life? I hope so. We should all appreciate and celebrate every wonderfully positive step we take in life; for in doing so, we create a better life for ourselves and for those who are blessed enough to know us.
The Akashic Records, or Book of Life, contain the entire history of every soul since the dawn of creation. Housed in the Hall of Records, these texts contain every thought, word, action, deed, and lesson over each soul's existence - past, present and future.
Researching the Akashic Records can lead you to numerous articles, websites and guided Youtube meditations, all with a different twist on how to best access your personal records. To be honest, the more I researched the more I realized just how overwhelming the vast array of information can be. So I write this article not as any kind of expert but as someone that is hoping to present the information as simply as possible. Thankfully, my good friend, Tracy Ronk, who teaches classes on Akashic Records agreed to help me cut through the 'clutter' surrounding all the information regarding the Book of Life.
Tracy admits that although there is no simple answer when it comes to accessing our individual records there is, however, a process. "It isn't as simple as just meditating and asking a question because while you can do that, it's probably going to be your higher self or your guides answering. That may give you the answers you are looking for, but that does not mean it came from your actual Akashic Records."
We should always approach our records with reverence, says Tracy "It's the holiest book of our soul! We should treat it as such, as well as those who guard our sacred texts and memories."
While it is beneficial to work with either a qualified hypnotherapist or Akashic Reader you can access your records on your own. The more information and practice you have the more successful your experience will be.
The Pathway Prayer Process to access the Akashic Records, created by Linda Howe, is a method anyone can use to interact with the sacred texts of the Akashic Records. Below is the opening and closing prayer. As you approach your records through reverent meditation, it is important to be grounded and abstain from any drugs or alcohol. Tracy recommends spending 15 to 60 minutes in the Records - less time than that is more like a quick yes/no oracle and not suitable for the Akashic Records.
The Pathway Prayer to Access the
Heart of the Akashic Records
And so we do acknowledge the Forces of Light,
Asking for guidance, direction, and courage to know the Truth
As it is revealed for our highest good and the highest good of
everyone connected to us.
Oh Holy Spirit of God,
Protect me from all forms of self-centeredness
And direct my attention to the work at hand.
Help me to know (myself/first name of individual being read) in the
Light of the Akashic Records,
To see (myself/first name of individual being read) through the eyes
of the Lords of the Records,
And enable me to share the wisdom and compassion that the
Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones of (me/first name of individual
being read) have for (me/him/her).
The Records are now open.
I would like to thank the Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones for
their love and compassion.
I would like to thank the Lords of the Akashic Records for their
point of view.
And I would like to thank the Holy Spirit of Light for all
knowledge and healing.
The Records are now closed. Amen.

How did you fare under the full moon last night? Were your emotions going haywire? I used to have an acquaintance who worked in law enforcement that would warn everyone to stay home during a full moon because the 'Crazies will be out'. And sure enough, she always had a slew of stories to tell the following day.
I've heard so many stories about the effects of the moon on humans and it seems only reasonable to me, especially when you consider how powerful the moons energy is when it comes to the oceanic tides. If the moon can change the tides it certainly can affect us humans who are, by the way, made up of up to 90% water.
Releasing negative energy, emotions and situations by the power of the full moon is also popular and recommended by the spiritual community; just googling the words 'Full Moon Release' will bring up a plethora of wonderful articles on the subject.
As for me, my Team of Light was very clear about how I should observe this full moon, and that was by laying low. Staying off of Facebook (even staying away from Intuitive Dawnings) no reading, no working, no cleaning the house..... just laying low. So I hunkered down with my family, plopped myself down on my sofa with a big blanket and basically 'veged out'. I focused on keeping my thoughts positive but I didn't really spend time trying to figure myself, my situation or anything else out. I just breathed - well, that and watched some good t.v.! My daughter and I both commented on how we just felt 'off' the whole day but couldn't quite put our finger on why (full moon, perhaps?).
So if, like me, you found yourself somewhat 'off' and afraid you might have lost the 'mojo' you have been successfully cultivating all of January, rest assured that it's only temporary. My Team of Light gave me the 'go ahead' to write this little piece to share with you; so it seems that my full moon sabbatical is already winding down. It may take a little while to get fully back on track but my trust is in the process and I know that this too is something orchestrated for my highest good. Thanks be to God!
Your guides and angels are constantly communicating with you; it is tuning into the little signs that they give us in order to help us heal our lives that makes the difference. Your Team of Light may send you a message in a song. a strange coincidence or in a repeated number sequence, just to name a few ways they like to get our attention. Noticing those little signs can aide us greatly when navigating our way through life. Your prayers are answered through so many little nuances. and making yourself familiar with all of the different ways that your spiritual support team is helping and guiding you with from the other side will enhance your ability to recognize your heavenly guidance.
Paying attention to those little signs can aide us greatly when navigating our way through life.
Below is a little 'cheat sheet' that I use to help me understand what message I should be paying attention to when I see a number repeated in my life. I got this from James Van Praagh's wonderful book 'Growing Up in Heaven'. If you would like a more detailed description for each number I would highly recommend Doreen Virtue's book 'Angels 101' as well as her book 'Healing with the Angels'.
111: There is a gate of opportunity opening up, and your thoughts are manifesting into form at record speed.
222: Don't worry about anything as the situation is resolving itself beautifully for everyone involved.
333: The Ascended Masters are near you, desiring you to know that you have their help, love, and companionship.
444: Thousands of angels surround you at this moment, loving and supporting you.
555: A major life change is upon you.
666: Your thoughts are out of balance right now, focused too much on the material world.
777: Keep up the good work and know your wish is coming true.
888: You are winding up an emotional career or relationship phase. It also means there is light at the end of the tunnel.
999: Get to work, light worker! The world needs your divine life purpose right now.
000: A reminder you are one with God. In addition, it is a sign that a situation has gone full circle.
I've tried my best, but if today I lose my hope please tell me that your plans are better than my dreams.
I have what I refer to as my 'Team of Light' that guide me through this things called Life. I believe that everyone has their own Team of Light. My team consists of God - the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, as well as designated Angels and Spirit Guides .
Life's 'messiness' has a purpose that we cannot fathom while we are in the midst of it.
My TOL guides me to do little things (like going with a 'Shabby Chic' look on my Intuitive Dawnings pages) and big things (like giving up alcohol for 2014 - except for special occasions). My TOL have been after me to be more open about my struggles. After all, we all have them; no one escapes the 'messiness' of Life. I certainly haven't. Intuitive Dawnings has been born out of those struggles (and the prompting of my guides) in order to not only help others through theirs but to help me through mine.
For everyone going through hard times, it's nice to know that we are not alone. Life's 'messiness' has a purpose that we cannot fathom while we are in the midst of it. I hope to be an inspiration for others, not because I have it all together but because I, like you, am searching for a deeper meaning for it all. Many blessings to you and deepest gratitude for your support. <3
Confidence comes not from always being right, but from not fearing being wrong.
What a wonderful thing to be able to free yourself from the prison of self judgement. When we allow ourselves to mess up, trip, fall down and be wrong, without it affecting our self worth then we have truly won a liberating battle. Our Ego tells us we must be perfect in order to be loved or accepted - we must be right. But we were Created WORTHY and in truth it is our vulnerabilities, not our perfections, that make us the most lovable.
Freeing ourselves from the fear of being wrong is a lofty goal but one worth achieving.
When we no longer fear being wrong we allow ourselves to live our life with a new vigor and abandon. We have stepped outside of the labels that life has put upon us and we choose to dance regardless of who is watching or who is judging. Judgement is a function of fear - not love; and it is in that knowledge that we can embrace ourselves for who and what we truly are. Freeing ourselves from the fear of being wrong is a lofty goal but one worth achieving. I am on the journey to free myself from this fear; to live my life taking chances, putting myself out there despite the fact that I may not like the outcome, that I may have been wrong. Sometimes, it is in the biggest mistakes that we gain our greatest victories. Endeavor with me to shed your fears of being wrong and hopefully someday soon we will learn to love ourselves just a little bit more. <3
A little bit about me? Well, I have been happily married since 1991 to my best friend, Bill Griffith. My greatest accomplishment and joy are my 3 children Abby, Jackson & Olivia (this is a picture of my oldest, Abby, and I). Oh, and I have two 'grand-babies', 2 adorable kittens named Noel and Belle that are the sweetest kitties ever! I’m a Midwestern girl that grew up on a farm but has lived most of my life in Omaha, Nebraska. My spiritual journey began when I was a toddler and would talk to my angels outside my window every night, since then I have felt a deep connection to God. I am a Christian and find my deepest solace in Jesus, Mother Mary and the Angels. My belief is that God opens the door as wide as possible and is not exclusionary. I have seen ghosts, communicated with them, learned about past lives and reincarnation and at every step pleaded with God to not let me be deceived. I believe Man’s Ego gets in the way of God’s love and our greatest lesson on earth is to destroy the Ego and promote the Love.
I believe Man’s Ego gets in the way of God’s love and our greatest lesson on earth is to destroy the Ego and promote the Love.
My spiritual journey has brought me many people, ideas and beliefs; the bible verse Matthew 7:16 “You will know a tree by the fruit it bears” has been my barometer for truth and Light every step of the way. God weaves His story through all of us and we are here to uplift and inspire each other. I am not perfect, I have my detractors, but my mission is simple ~ to learn and grow in God’s Love and to bring together people in order to inspire and enlighten. The path to inner peace is a messy one and hard fought; hopefully by sharing a bit of my path with others I can help those struggling to make sense of a sometimes chaotic world. Many blessings to you all.
